Welcome to RWE Renewables Australia, the Australian arm of global energy leader RWE.
With a rich history in the energy sector, RWE is one of the world’s leading producers of renewable energy. The RWE Group has been present in Australia since 2013. In 2018 we began construction of one of the country’s largest solar farms – the 249 megawatt (MW) Limondale Solar Farm in New South Wales.
Since then, we have developed Australia’s first eight-hour battery at the same site under New South Wales first Long Duration Storage (LDS) Long-Term Energy Service Agreement as part of the first tender undertaken by ASL.
In September 2025, Limondale BESS was successfully registered with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), becoming Australia’s first eight-hour duration battery.
