Landholders

At RWE Renewables Australia, we see landholders as genuine partners in delivering renewable energy. We work hand-in-hand with them throughout the development and operation of our projects, and we build respectful, proactive relationships with neighbours and the broader communities where our projects are based.

We are proud to provide the farmers who host our infrastructure with a supplementary and reliable income stream. Every landholder has direct access to a dedicated project manager and a team of specialists who support them at every stage of the project lifecycle.

  • Our Neighbour Benefit Program recognises nearby landholders and residents who may experience increased activity during wind farm construction and operation.

While tailored to each project, the program generally includes:

    • Annual payments to neighbours within at least six kilometres of the project boundary
    • A tiered payment structure using distance-band or zoned models
    • Energy-offset payments
  • RWE also acknowledges the vital role of landholders who host Designated Network Assets (transmission infrastructure) required to connect projects to the electricity grid.

For the Theodore Wind Farm in Queensland, we have introduced a Landholder Payment Program, providing a one-off voluntary payment to landholders hosting essential grid connection infrastructure only.
